  4. marijuana became legal in colorado because of the 54% vote to legalize it. it is similar to drinking . you must be 21 and order. you can not smoke it outside. in colorado, the most you can have on you without getting $100 fine is 1 ounce. According to the federal government, it is still illegal. if they were to step in, people could still be arrested. This law is said to take affect in about 30 days. I believe it will improve the economy.

  5. Colorado was the first state to make it legal to use marijuana for recreational use. 54 percent supported the law. It will take a month for the law to be in effect, and you will have to be 21 or older to have it in your possession. You will be allowed up to one ounce and up to six plants in your possession. You will not be allowed to light up in public and cities and counties will be able to block Marijuana retailers out. They think this might help with taxes but they are afraid that it will encourage teens to use it.
This is still illegal Federally and supporters hope that the government has a Lassiez-fair attitude toward it.

  9. The Marijuana law passed in Colorado is a big deal. The reason that it a big deal is because the fact that Colorado is the first state to ever legalize the recreational use of marijuana. The law says that it should be used for use of 21 years of age or older and you can own up to 4 ounces and cultivate 24 plants. There was a poll taken by Gallup and it said 50% of Americans say that marijuana should be legalized. That 4% more than the poll taken last year and the highest percent since gallup stared tracking public attitudes legalizing cannabis.

  13. On november the 6th amendment 64 was passed in the state of colorado. The production and distribution is still illegal, you have to be 21 yrs of age in order to buy it. Also, some would say that because marijuana is now legalized the thrill of consuming it has gone down amoung people under 21. Just as alcohol was made legal and taxes have been applied, now so has marijuana.
This was a huge and long fought fight for the public and now the votes are in-the public has prevailed.

This amendment doesnt protect any one under the age of twenty-one, carrying more than one ounce, or having more than three flower plants. You are not aloud to smoke in public. Colorado's new law doesn't make any changes to the state's driving-under-the-influence laws. This is still up to police to stop people from driving under the influence.
