  1. A day in the Senate is when senators from each state meets up at the Senate. At the senate, they discuss new bills to be passed and new laws. It is set up with the speaker at the top row with the senators facing the speaker. The House of Represenatives video was a little bit different than the Senate video. In the House of Represenatives video, they discussed different bills being passed and the whole set up was different. The speaker sits at the top while the representatives are sitting below him. In the Senate, the Senators are facing the speaker. The Senate Chamber is a large room. The speaker is set up at the top row with an American Flag pole on the left of the speaker and big blue decorative curtains behind him. In this video the speaker is speaking as well as each senator from each state. Each senator from each state was speaking for their state and disscussing a new law or bill they wanted to have passed.

  2. An average day a Senator can start early and go very late, and it can be filled with many things. U.S. Senators are required to vote on matters that are important. A member from each state join in the senate. The speaker sits at the top much like the house of representatives. In the Senate the vice president is speaking and in the House of Representatives there is a Speaker of the House. The Senate also is more stable and formal and powers are equally distributed. Unlike the Senate the House is less experienced. In the Senate the members are facing the speaker where th House they sit beneath him.

  3. An average day in Senate can be very long and discuss many different topics. The Senate is composed of two representatives from each state. The meetings of the Senate are headed by the Vice President or the President of Senate if he isn't present. The meetings of the House of Representatives are headed by the Speaker of the House. The set up of the chamber is very different than the House's. The Senate's chamber is all one level, unlike the House of Representative's where the Speaker of the House looks down on the representatives. Some of the speakers were Senator Bob Corker, who spoke about jobs and reforming the country. Another speaker was Senator Johnny Isakson who spoke about the economy

  4. After watching this video I learned that when the senators meet it is a very long meeting. The meeting is about how the senators want to help the people of America and they also talked about how Obama isn't doing his part. They talked about budgets, employment rate going down, and taxes.
Some speakers were: John Kyl(Arizona), Roy Blunt(Missouri), Harry Reid(Nevada), Kent Comrad(North Dakota), and many more people spoke. Harry Reid actually talked about Filibusters against bills that dealt with employment which annoyed because this country needs employment right now.
The vice president is the head of the meeting and appoints which senators talk. The senate chamber is not much different from the House of Reps building. They are all on the same level in stead of the speaker being higher up other wise it is pretty much the same, they both have the same type of seating and maybe different colors but that is it.

  5. A day in the Senate is very interesting. Even though it is a long process it is worth it because if there was no Senate then there would be no laws. The Vice President is the head of Senate. The V.P.'s replacement when he is not there is the President of Senate. From watching this video you get the idea of how long and tedious the job of being a Senators is. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse who is speaking about the acidity of the water rising due to the CO2 emissions. Senator Kent Conrad was speaking about the Ryan plan and saying that medicare which finances 75% of health costs of senior citizens who are eligible cut from 75% to 32%.

  6. A normal day at senate is very long but there is alot discussed. Senators from the states come and discuss ideas, bills and other topics that may come up. There is one speaker at a time with the rest of the senators listening. In the house of representatives the speaker is looking down to the senators but not here. The senate chamber has the speaker on the top and once again there is an american flag behind him. The speakers where from different states.

  7. this video makes us understand what an adverse day in senate is like. This meeting is very long, and during this meeting the senators make it known that it is their goal to help the americans. they also come and talk about ideas regarding bills. The Vice President is the head of Senate. The president of senate takes charge when the vice president is not present. In the Senate the members are facing the speaker where in the House they sit beneath him.

  8. What I took away from the video is that a day in the senate can be very tedious and long, but here is many things that go on, and many ideas that are being thrown around and discussed. The speaker of the house always sits at the front while everyone else sits below the speaker of the house. There was a senator named Harry Reid who I noticed talked about filibusters which I thought was interesting since we talked about it in class.

  9. Watching the video of the senate is sort of similar to the hor its a very very long meeting which is sort of boring. The vice president is head of the senate and he appoints people when to speak. There are both parties on either side the Democrats and Republicans and they all talk about helping Americans and trying to bring back the country to the way it was as one speaker of the senate had said

  10. The Senate and House of Representatives both began with a prayer, also followed with a pledge . Everything is almost similar. They both discussed the war in the Middle East, and each speaker was given a certain amount of time to state their opinion. There was democrats and republicans. Some topics that were discussed were federal spending, judicial nominations, and democratic leadership. These ideas were based on how to fix our nation's economy.

  11. In the room of the Senate it is different than the room of the House of Representatives. In the room of the Senate everything is level and there is two sides separating people in the room. The Vice President leads and speaks. In the room of the House of Representatives the speaker of the House looks down on everyone. The speaker of the house leads and is in charge of everyone speaking and when someone can give their opinion.

  12. The day of a senator is etremely long-starts early and ends late. Senators talk about what is best for the american people as they see it. They mostly talk about how the leadership in america. The senate is separted by two sides, the Vice President heads the senate. In the senate the members face the speaker in the house of representatives sit beneath the him.

  13. A day in Senate comprises of going over issues by discussing and debating them. The differences of the House and Senate is their are far less senators than Reps. and the chamber is all on one floor instead a the huge, multiple floors chamber of the House. Several Senators speak who feel they have a pressing matter and it is presided over the the President of the Senate.

  14. For the senate session, part one, they are all formal, such as suits. They begin with an open prayer by blessing the people and our country. The beginner speaker is Sen. Mitch McCONNELL who is the minority leader, expressing how to fix our country. Wanting new jobs.Talking about voting, and how things should be far. Mich , is a truthful man who is speaking him mind !!

  15. A day in the Senate clearly is very long and eventful. The way the Senate meetings run is by 'The President" calling on Representatives to speak on the matter at hand. The Senate house is similar to the House of Representatives, yet there is of course much less members speaking then The House. The speakers take turns after being called on by the President who sits on top of the associates. The speakers also say what state they represent before they speak, which is interesting.

  16. The Senate chamber looks similar to the House of Representatives. The Vice President wasn't there so the President por Tempore ran the show. Similar to the representatives at the HOR, various Senators were given an opportunity to speak. However, these Senators were granted more time to speak compared to the representatives who only had one minute to speak. Perhaps this is because there aren't as many Senators as there are Representatives. For example, Sen. Joe Manchin from West Virginia gave a ten minute speech about federal spending. Moreover, I think that there is a stronger divide between republicans and democrats, or at least a more pronounced separation between the two parties in the senate versus the house. Republicans were given the opportunity to speak first, and the democrats were given there opportunity later on.

  17. The senate chamber is much smaller then the house of reps. in trems iof quantity obivosly because it comtains much less people. Pro Tempore was taking the place of the speaker in this session. the differences between the senate and house of reps include a more indivualized approach is disscusioon , and by thati mean people are not rushed as much to answer questions i think this because there are less people to cover people have more time to give opinion
